Layer: TransDimensional Mapping Tool
Layer: A Card Tool to Enhance TransDimensional Mapping
Ever feel stuck in the middle of a map, or unsure where to take your exploration next? That’s when you use Layer—a creative card tool designed to spark new insights and help you expand your mapping practice.
How It Works
1. Print & Prepare – Print the Layer deck and cut out the cards.
2. Set the Stage – Place the deck next to your mapping tools before beginning your session.
3. Shuffle & Draw – Whenever you need a fresh perspective, shuffle and pull a card.
4. Follow the Prompt – Each card offers a playful nudge that invites you to explore your map in a new way.
Examples of What You Might Draw
· Energy: Tune into energy signatures within your experience. Where do they gather? How do they flow? Add these to your map.
· Find an Opposite: Look at your existing data and search for its opposite. What’s hidden in contrast? Expand your map by noting what emerges.
· Zoom Out: Step back and view the entire experience from a broader perspective. What larger patterns reveal themselves?
· Ask “What If?”: Imagine the experience unfolding differently. What alternate pathways or outcomes appear?
Why Use Layer?
Layer cards act as gentle guides, disrupting linear thinking and opening up new doorways of exploration. They help you:
